Endo Receives Wert Scholarship

Yohei Endo, who currently serves as the McKinley Memorial Presbyterian Church music director, was called to music ministry through his love of the organ. “I started  feeling very comfortable in church. And when I served as a music minister, I felt my heart and mind open.” Since that time, Endo has moved from Japan to the U.S. to study church and organ music. He is currently pursuing his PhD in organ performance at the University of Illinois.

The Wert Scholars Fund is named for the late Charles A. Wert, a member and elder of the McKinley Presbyterian Church, and a professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois. The Wert Scholars Fund is administered by The McKinley Foundation at the University of Illinois. Applications are accepted annually during the spring semester.
