2017-2018 Scholarships Available

Three Opportunities for College Scholarships!

Each scholarship is an award of $2,000. Up to four will be awarded. The Ullman and McKinley Foundation Freshman Scholarships are for residents of Presby Hall to help offset the cost of living expenses. The Wert Scholarship is for any student in the area of Christian or lay ministry. All applications are due Monday, March 27, 2017.

The Ullman Scholarship

The Ullman Scholarship is named for the late Rina Ullman of Urbana, Illinois. Ullman was a faithful member of McKinley Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of the church choir. She was also an enthusiastic music lover!

The Ullman Scholarship is an award of $2,000 and is available exclusively to residents of Presby Hall at the University of Illinois. Other considerations include financial need, civic engagement and academic achievement. Special consideration is given to students pursuing the study of music. To apply, complete the application form and submit the requested supporting materials no later than March 27, 2017.

The McKinley Foundation Freshman Scholarship
The McKinley Foundation Freshman Scholarship, named for the US Senator William McKinley, is an award of $2,000. The McKinley Foundation Freshman Scholarship is available exclusively to incoming freshmen who will be residents of Presby Hall at the University of Illinois in Champaign for the coming academic year (2017-2018). Up to two scholarships are awarded each year. Preference is given to those students who meet the following criteria: financial need; civic engagement or volunteer service, especially for social justice issues; and academic achievement. To apply, complete the application form and submit the requested supporting materials no later than March 27, 2017.

The Wert Scholars Fund

The Wert Scholars Fund is named for the late Charles A. Wert, a member and elder of McKinley Memorial Presbyterian Church, and a professor of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Illinois. The scholarship award varies, but is generally around $2,000.

The Wert Scholarship benefits a student studying for the Christian ministry at any educational institution. The scholarship may also be used for those who are studying for lay minister positions. To apply, complete the application form and submit the requested supporting materials no later than March 27, 2017.
